A Changing World

The world is changing, without a doubt. Just look at Palestine and Iraq.

Palestine has recently elected Mahmoud Abbas to be their President after years of having a this and a terrorist in Yasser Arafat. The fact they're even having an election is amazing. With a new leader the possibilities of the peace process to be started again and a settlement being agreed is incredibly great.

In Iraq they're four days away from an election. Hopefully it will succeed in allowing the Iraqi people to freely elect a President, hopefully the terrorists won't scare the people from voting, and hopefully this will set a precedent for the Iraqi people. With freedom will come a willingness to live in a peaceful world and not be susceptible to the terrorist propaganda.

I, like President Bush, believes that if people are free to elect their leaders and thus live in a democratic society, they are less likely to fall into step with terrorist ideology and its hateful teachings.
