The fact of the matter is whether Dan Rather knew the documents were fake or not, he screwed up. If he didn't know, he should've made sure of their authenticity. If they were of course authentic at all, which I happen to think they were not. CBS has lost a lot of credibility with this fiasco. I don't think it'll help the Kerry campaign though one bit; in fact it hurts him. The Kerry campaign is seeming to take a nosedive and this just seems to accelerate it.
